Oryx Hunts |
In the 1970’s the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish introduced the Oryx (Gemsboks) in order to open up a new hunting opportunity for the residents of New Mexico. Since then, the New Mexico Oryx population has grown to approximately 6000 animals on and off the range. Oryx can weigh up to 450 pounds, and stand about 47 inches at the shoulder. Both males and females have horns. Their distinctive markings allow them to hide among desert shrubs. Our New Mexico Oryx (Gemsbok) HuntsIn New Mexico our Oryx Hunts are conducted on the Stallion Range, Rhode Canyon and includes motels stays and all meals. All hunts are conducted on a 2:1 guide ratio unless otherwise requested*. This is an exciting hunt that makes for a excellent trophy and some of the best game fare available in North America. |
